Project Based and Student Centered Instruction
- Project Based Learning (PBL) is taking a problem that directly affects the students and creating a solution. This task is to be accomplished mostly by the students as a way to help them apply their learning to real world situations.
- Student Centered Learning is creating lessons or activities where the students can navigate their learning. They are free to explore and move through the learning at their own pace. They also are free to choose which activities to spend the most time on and which particular topics they are interested in.

Personal Reflection
I love this concept of having the students participate in their learning, however it was the most challenging learning to put into practice for me. I learned there are so many smaller concepts that need to be taught to children before you let them go into their own learning. For my kindergarten students I needed more time to help them learn problem solving skills, so most of my recess lesson was completed as a whole group. I definitely want to try that lesson again next school year. The friendship lesson went well except the students couldn't read all the tasks they had to complete. They loved going to each video or link and doing those activities, but they did not know how to do the activities that showed what they learned. I need to change that piece for next year.
